Women on Boards CIC® Think Tank
We often get asked 'what is a Think Tank?'
It can mean different things to different people, sectors and communities. But to Founders Sandra and Payal, a Think Tank is a space for knowledge exchange, discussion, and most importantly ACTION.
We frequently see and read Report after Report, but then what...?
Our Think Tank brings together experts, leaders, and changemakers from the public, private, third and education sectors to explore critical issues, challenge conventional thinking, and influence systemic change.
Our Think Tank at Women on Boards CIC® is more than just a conversation—
It’s a movement that drives impact.
Why Was It Needed?
Despite progress, systemic barriers still limit female entrepreneurs' access to leadership and board positions. We only seem to hear about the FTSE and Corporate board positions for women. This is incredibly valid and important; however, representation remains imbalanced, and the pace of change is too slow.
Where are opportunities for female entrepreneurs?
Founders Sandra Wiggins and Payal Walker recognised the need for a dedicated space where women could convene, collaborate, and co-create real solutions. They even immersed themselves in an 8 day Think Tank programme in Brussels to ensure process and accuracy.
The WOB CIC Think Tank was set up to provide a platform for discussing challenges, identifying opportunities, and shaping the future of leadership with a collective voice in an undocumented landscape.
How We Work Together
Our Think Tank is a collaborative and inclusive space, bringing together diverse perspectives—from seasoned entrepreneurs, academics, public and third-sector officials, and existing board members to emerging leaders.
Each session is centred around a key question or challenge, facilitating open dialogue and generating real-world insights, with these conversations held in-person and online.
By working together with cross-sector collaboration, we amplify impact—turning conversations into tangible action.
The insights gathered won’t just stay within the room. They are currently being analysed and written into our Women on Boards CIC® Report, which will outline key challenges, emerging trends, and, most importantly, practical recommendations to influence policy and drive systemic change.
Throughout this journey, WOB CIC has ensured that our collective voice will reach decision-makers, helping to shape more inclusive leadership and boardroom practices.
Turning Insights into Action
Our Think Tank is not just about discussion—it’s about driving real change.
The insights and data gathered from our sessions, Steering Committee and Survey work are currently being analysed and written into a comprehensive Women on Boards CIC® Report.
The WOB CIC report will highlight key challenges, emerging trends, and, most importantly, practical recommendations to influence policy, shape leadership pathways, and create more inclusive boardrooms.
By bridging the gap between conversation and action, we ensure that the voices within our Think Tank contribute to meaningful, systemic change at the highest levels.
